Small Business? How Frequently Should You Post On Social Media?

As social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter have grown in popularity in the early 2000s, businesses around the world are now able to market their products or services online. 70% of small businesses use social media to connect with their customers and promote their brand.

All industries, especially small businesses, have greatly benefited from social media. Traditional forms of advertising tend to be more expensive, have a smaller reach, and are more difficult to manage than social media marketing.

Engaging your followers and keeping your page active are the keys to success. Posting regularly is the key to accomplishing this. What does "regularly" mean to you?

How many posts do you think are necessary?

You don't need to make a certain number of posts every day. In spite of this, statistics show that social media marketing can yield some interesting results.

Those who follow you

A single post a day is sufficient if you have less than 10k followers, according to HubSpot. The clicks per post will decrease by 60% if this threshold is exceeded. Over 10K followers should receive 1-2 posts per day.

Platform of your choice

You should also consider the platform you're using when determining the frequency of posts. HubSpot found, for instance, that on Facebook, pages with less than 10K followers tend to have fewer posts that drive more engagement. The engagement per post can double if you post 4-5 times per month.

Twitter is totally different. You can tweet whatever you want in this channel. Due to its short lifespan, each tweet is usually pushed to the bottom of the page after only 20 minutes. One or two tweets per hour is a reasonable target according to experts. Three tweets per day would be a more realistic goal.

Unlike Facebook, Instagram is more about quality over quantity. You should post once a day, but make sure it is visually appealing. It is ideal to post three to four times a day if you have more than 1,000 followers on Instagram.

The number of pins you can do per day on Pinterest varies between five and thirty. You can start with five pins if you are just starting out. Pin more as your following grows. Engagement increases as you do more pins.

The time and day of the week

There are different best "times" for posting on different social media platforms.

Sprout Social recommends posting on Facebook on Wednesday between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Twitter is active Tuesdays and Wednesdays, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

There will be live streams on Instagram on Thursday at 3 p.m., 5 a.m., 11 a.m., and 4 p.m.

The key to success is consistency

The importance of consistency is more important than the frequency of your posts on social media. In other words, you're more likely to get better results if you post once a day consistently for one month instead of dropping five posts in one day.

Your social media posts should be scheduled on a regular basis. As a result, your customers will have something to look forward to at certain times or days of the week. As a result, your life becomes easier.

Most social media platforms allow you to schedule content to be posted at specific times and days throughout a week or month. Alternatively, you can schedule and manage your social media posts, as well as analyze their impact, using all-in-one marketing platforms like Sirkle.

There is no substitute for quality

Your content must be highly relevant to your audience if you want them to engage with it. Align your social posts with the interests and likes of your audience by taking the time to understand them.

Additionally, make sure your posts are positive. You don't always have to make your audience happy, but you should make them feel engaged, inspired, and excited.

Posts should be short and simple. You may lose some followers if you write lengthy posts. Include a nice photo in your Facebook or Twitter posts to catch your audience's eye.

Businesses today are very dependent on social media, and every business is different - what works for one may not work for another. It's all about experimentation. Try different posting frequency schedules until you find the one that works best for you.
